However, the new SMILE-G3 batteries from AlphaESS are engineered to overcome these climate challenges, delivering reliable performance even in extreme cold. Both sizes now include battery heating technology, allowing the system to operate at temperatures as low as -20°C, where the heating system automatically activates when needed, ensuring your storage keeps working through cold snaps, without extra insulation or manual workarounds.

These aren’t just smarter — they’re safer too. Each battery pack includes:

A built-in fire extinguisher, which activates if the battery reaches a critical temperature
A decompression valve for safe internal pressure releases
Comprehensive temperature detection, triggering safety measures if internal temperatures rise
A bypass function, allowing the system to continue operating even during fault detection in one battery
Series connection for reduced DC-to-AC losses and greater system reliability when stacking multiple modules
