AlphaESS UK partners with Axle Energy to unlock new value from home batteries
Eligible AlphaESS UK residential customers can now connect their battery to the Axle Energy Virtual Power Plant, helping support the electricity grid while earning rewards under the current beta programme.

Mark Hale, Managing Director at AlphaESS UK, with Pete Last, Growth Lead at Axle Energy, at Solar and Storage Live 2026.
AlphaESS UK has partnered with Axle Energy to give eligible residential battery customers access to Axle Energy's Virtual Power Plant, or VPP. The integration creates a new route for homeowners to earn from their battery when the electricity grid needs additional flexibility.
Under Axle's current beta programme, participating customers can earn £1 per kWh for energy exported during eligible grid stress events, with a guaranteed minimum of £10 a month under the current programme terms. Customers can sign up with any energy supplier, tariff or Feed-in Tariff arrangement, subject to battery, smart-meter and service eligibility.
The customer sign-up process checks tariff information, smart-meter details and battery connectivity.
