The AlphaESS system didn't really compare to other units on the market; it really led the way with the features it offered in its all-in-one, versatile unit. The price of the unit and the UK support, both via technical phone lines and in-field engineers, really set AlphaESS apart from other brands. Being an all-in-one unit that offers site backup, generator input, additional storage capability, scalability through parallel connection, HVAC to prolong battery performance, internal fire suppression, IP-rated as standard, extended warranty, UK support technicians & remote support, no other product on the market compares. All of these features were of interest to the customer and were thought to add value to the system being installed at their site.
How would you rate the technical support provided by AlphaESS during commissioning?
The technical support was exceptional. The engineers demonstrated professionalism and expertise, commissioning the system rapidly and efficiently. They ensured a seamless handover and proactively monitored the system remotely, fine-tuning settings over the following days to guarantee optimal performance.
Did the AlphaESS technical team add value during installation and system setup?
AlphaESS commissions all its C&I products on-site. This approach allows the expert team at AlphaESS UK to thoroughly check and commission the system, while giving the installation partner the space to step back and let the AlphaESS team programme it to meet the exact requirements. The end user benefits from the confidence that comes from having the manufacturer on site, collaborating directly with the installer. It’s truly a win-win for all parties involved.
Was the choice of AlphaESS influenced more by product capabilities or by the support offering?
The choice of AlphaESS over other quoted systems was due to its capabilities, additional features, scalability, and competitive pricing from Immersa. Support from the AlphaESS and Immersa teams, along with the extended warranty, clinched the customer's decision, providing peace of mind and trust in both the installation company and the product.
Addressing Grid Dependence and Energy Uncertainty on a Commercial Site
The customer sought to reduce their reliance on the grid and achieve self-sufficiency with this new site. Despite very poor solar generation since the mid-January installation, they have outperformed expectations: generating 70kWh more than imported from the grid, fully supporting the site load using the battery, and earning payments for exporting excess solar to the grid.
